For sale a stunning and very rare, 1970s sun-bleached Rosewood sideboard, designed by Robert Heritage for the high-end furniture makers, Archie Shine.
The sideboard, which was sourced from the original owners, was purchased from Heals of London in 1977 and still has it’s original delivery label sellotaped to the back.
The sideboard consists of a two-door cupboard with an adjustable shelf and four drawers, one of which is a felt-lined cutlery drawer. The unit is beautifully designed & constructed, with a rosewood exterior, teak interior and featuring gorgeous in-laid rosewood handles.
The cabinet is firm and stable and in superb vintage condition, with some minor marks & scratches commensurate with 40+ years of age and careful use but nothing to detract. Of note, there is a dark patch to the back corner of the top which appears to have been shielded from exposure to light, and has retained its original colour; also, a couple of the inlaid handles (on the cupboard) have got some old splits, but are intact and there is no movement on them (please see photos).
