For sale an absolutely stunning Italian Space Age ‘BRUMBURY’ lamp, designed by Luigi Massoni for Harvey Guzzini in 1969.
The “Brumbury” is a highly collectable piece of 1960’s Italian lighting that looks absolutely fantastic, and gives off a wonderful glowing light from it’s orange/tan resin mushroom shaped shade. The lamp’s body is made of white coated metal alloy mounted on a chrome base.
The lamp holds four bulbs; one in the internal chamber, within the central dome of the shade and 3 bulbs radially disposed under the outer tier of the shade, with the inner bulb and the outer ones controlled independently through the original double in-line switch. The lamp still has it’s original “harvey guzzini – made in italy” sticker on the shade.
The shade has some minor marks & scratches commensurate with age and use. The chrome base is clean of rust & pitting, though there are some minor marks & scratches. The rubber washer/band that sits between the chrome base and white body is cracked, as is often the case with these lamps. The only issues of note are that the chrome ring on the shade has some wear and there is a small amount of heat damage to the shade, which is barely noticeable (see photo) and neither of which affect the look of the lamp.
