For sale a beautifully elegant “Orbit” mirror designed by Rodney Kinsman in 1984 for OMK and produced by Bieffeplast of Italy.
The Orbit mirror is a beautiful, minimalist and very functional piece of postmodern design. Consisting of a large, wall mounted, circular mirror with a slender adjustable chrome frame – with a smaller embedded double sided pivoting vanity mirror – which horizontally ‘orbits’/swings in a 180 degree arc around the mounted mirror (like a satellite orbiting a planet), enabling 360-degree grooming. The vanity mirror has both a regular reflecting and a magnifying surface and can also be swivelled 360 degrees on it’s own axis.
The mirror is in good vintage condition; of note, there is a chip to the back edge of the larger mirror and some loss of silvering to the outer edges of both mirrors, commensurate with age and use but nothing to overly detract. The mirror is hung from a steel box-frame which carries the “bieffeplast (Padova) Italy” label.
